It is recommended that you clean your curtain every couple of months. This will help reduce any allergens that may be lurking in them. It is especially important to do this regularly if you have breathing problems. People who have indoor pets should also do this a little more often. It will help reduce any pet dander that is in the air.
One simple way to wash all your curtains at one time is to throw them in the washer on the delicate cycle. Many people are afraid to wash their curtains in the washing machine. The delicate cycle is made for the types of material that most curtains are made of. It should not hurt them in any way.
While your curtains are washing this would also be a good time to wash all those windows. They can become dusty behind all that material. For a good streak free window mixture, look for our article on streak free windows.
It is recommended that you allow your curtains to dry on a line outside for best results. This will give them a fresh feel and a much more natural smell. If it is too cold outside to dry them on the line, place them on low heat in the dryer. This should not tear them up or cause any problems. You will want to remove them immediately so that they do not wrinkle badly. Iron as needed for a fresh new appearance.

Every parent has to deal with their kids’ rooms from time to time. While it’s a good idea to insist that your kids clean their own rooms, sometimes you may need to help them out or do a quick pick up when company is coming over.
For general cleaning, set a schedule for your kids. You may want to have this be a weekly chore, or, if your children generally pick up after themselves, they may get away with a good cleaning every two weeks or even once a month. Basically, all you need to do is inspect their rooms. Make sure your kids know when this is going to happen and what is expected of them. If they’re older, you may ask more of them. For example, teens are capable of vacuuming their own rooms and dusting shelves. For younger kids, you may need to help them with some of these more advanced cleaning tasks.
If you notice their rooms are too cluttered in between cleaning inspections, don’t be afraid to tell them to pick up their toys and such. Make certain they know that they are expected to keep their rooms clean all the time, not just on the days you’re going to check up on them. However, try not to nag them too much. After all, chances are your own bedroom isn’t always spotless.
If you do have to clean your kids’ rooms for whatever reason, try to respect their privacy. This is especially a concern if you’re picking up your teen’s room. Don’t read their diaries, for example, even if they are left lying on the desk. In fact, if your teen isn’t home and you need the house ready for unexpected company or some other reason, take a moment to consider if your visitors are actually going to see your teen’s room. If not, it may be better to simply leave their door closed.

It is that time of year when spring is slowly approaching. This means that it is time for spring cleaning. The great thing about this time of year is that you can get rid of old things have been cluttering your house for years. Spring gives everyone the opportunity to clean those storage closets, bedrooms, clothes closets, and garages.
Cleaning out your home can be a difficult task. It is hard to know where to start and what to keep or toss. Here are a few tips that should help no matter what room you are going to be cleaning.
• If the last time you saw it was a year ago, either toss it or donate it.
• If you do not have all the parts, and have no idea where the other ones are get rid of it. It is unlikely that you will find them.
• If you have toys from when your children were young, donate them to someone who will use them.
• If you have stacks of bills or personal information from more than seven years ago, shred them.
The main thing to remember is that you are doing this so that you can remove some of the clutter from your home. You do not just want to rearrange it.

Are you tired of cleaning your windows with cleaners that leave streaks everywhere? I know that many cleaners claim to leave your windows looking sparkling and streak free, but these cleaners do not always work. You can scrub all you want, and you still have residue and dirt build up all over your windows.
An environmentally friendly option for streak free windows, and not to mention a very inexpensive way is to use vinegar. Vinegar has natural acids that eat away at the grime and dirt that can build up on windows over time. If you add a little liquid dish soap to the mixture, it will also take off any extra residue left by other cleaners.
Fill a spray bottle with three cups of water, half a cup of vinegar, and about a teaspoon of dish soap. This is the mixture that seems to work best. Using all three ingredients will give you the best results. If you have already cleaned your windows with soap and water, you can simply fill the spray bottle with the water and vinegar. You will still want to label the bottle and keep out of reach of children.
